Nowadays, many people have pets in their homes. However, they’re not simply “just” pets, they are part of the family and are loved greatly! Just like when you have children, you have to take into consideration the fact that you have pets when making important decisions for your home. Flooring is no exception.

A lot of things come to mind when considering what type of flooring will be best for your home, even more so when you have pets to consider. With pets comes a lot of responsibility and some issues to keep in mind when considering what type of flooring will work best with them. For example, do you want carpeting but are afraid of accidents with puppy potty training or kitties and their litter boxes? How about hairballs and bone residue? How about their fur shedding? People often stray away from carpeting when they have their furry friends because of these issues and they are drawn toward other flooring products, such as hardwood, tile or lvt. While it may seem like the best choice, you will also have concerns with those too, such as the animals having long claws and nails and doing damage to the floor, and possibly hurting themselves.
